The LMU working group "Microbial Biochemistry" invites applications for the position of a PhD student (m/f/d) in the field of Microbiology. We are looking for a new team member who shares our enthusiasm for the biochemical diversity of bacteria, as well as molecular and synthetic microbiology, and is seeking an opportunity to pursue a PhD

Position Details

Start Date: As soon as possible

Duration: 3 years

Funding: Fully funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG)

Location: Our group is based at the LMU Biocenter within a vibrant, highly-collaborative environment at the High-Tech Campus Martinsried

Project Description

The selected candidate will contribute to our work on glycomicrobiology. Using state-of-the-art technologies in microbial genetics and biochemistry, we aim to understand bacterial rhamnosylation

Employment Conditions

Qualifications: A university master's degree in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, or a related subject

Experience: Prior experience working with bacteria is mandatory, as well as proficiency in molecular biological and biochemical methods. Evidence of successful scientific activity through publications is desirable
